Abstract
This research advocates the inclusion of Contemporary Art understanding and practices in the Visual Arts Course Curriculum, adapting to the innovations of our age and making positive contributions to scientific development. Modern Art and Postmodern Art, which paved the way for the formation of Contemporary Art, the development process of Contemporary Art, the current development of Visual Arts Course Curriculum and the current Visual Arts Course Curriculum were emphasized. This study, which proceeds with the qualitative research process, was designed as an industrial study of the descriptive and content analysis model. Plugin analysis was used as a qualitative data collection method. The data obtained from the 2018 Visual Arts Course (Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12) Curriculum regarding the place of Contemporary Art was used as a source. As a result of the research, it was determined that Contemporary Art was handled with a superficial and hidden approach in the 2018 Secondary Education Visual Arts Course Curriculum and was not included at a sufficient level.
